Nice. Here’s mine:
Sleepy Sarah Tea
Tired of buying tea bags, so I bought a bunch of fresh tarragon. Chopped it up and put it in the freezer. In the evenings, I pack a clump of frozen tarragon into one of those tea ball strainer things (what are they called??), and then add any combination of: piece of fresh ginger, slice of lemon, mint, cardomom, cloves, cinnamon stick, peppercorns, bay leaves. Boil water, then let it all steep along with 1/4 cup of brandy. Works nicer than any sleeping pill.

…or maybe it’s 1/3 cup of brandy….
You know, experiment.

my favorite is eggontoastwithjam
it’s what it sounds like: a fried egg on a piece of toast w/ jam.
people always look at me in horror when I eat it, but it’s SOOOOOOOOO good!

I ate dried algae off a BC beach this summer and it tasted like a Japanese algae snack. The only thing that bothered me was the grains of sand in my teeth. That’s not really a recipe, but I feel like this thread is turning into a “I eat weird stuff” vein anyway.

I’ve found that peanut butter goes a lot farther than its traditional uses. On a grilled cheese sandwich, with bananas (the King’s favorite), and best of all, on a hamburger.
I’d also like to try peanut butter sushi sometime.

I know this is an old thread, but I just remembered my starch sandwich recipe from Camp Calvin (Can you tell I grew up in the CRC?). I made it on tuna salad and soup days. Bread, lettuce (for a little bit of moisture), potato chips, saltines and oyster crackers. I tried it again recently and discovered that a bit of mayo goes a long way.

thought i’d bring this one back to the top because i just discovered the enjoyable combination of raisins and colby (a variation of my mom’s cheese-on-raisin-toast).
and i had a delicious cheddar and apple omlette this past weekend.
and i’m still waiting for that sweet roll recipe. norb?

joelspace sandwich:
I decided to make myself ham/cheese/mustard/lettuce/tomato sandwich today and realized there were no tomatos. With no tomatos the mixture would be a bit too dry. So I looked for a substitute with the same texture. Grapes! They did the trick wonderfully. Just cut them in half and pack em in.
