Kept objects

I keep bits of heartbreaking conversations.

“We’re going to get the family iPhones for Christmas!”

“Dad, after the conversation we just had about finances, do you think it is wise?”

“Our long-time friend, Dad’s palliative care nurse, is going now to check on him and Mom will be texting me.”

“See, it’s our daughter calling, when her picture lights up.”

Can the phone that we keep near us constantly remind us of the extravagant love of God, or is it too extravagant for us?
