Great quote. What is the context? I’d like to know where it’s found so I can look it up.

I think it is out of Gardner’s amazing book Moral Fiction. Don’t know whether he is a Christian, but he did a lot of intelligent thinking about fiction writers and their responsibilitieis to culture. Too bad he rode his motercycle into a tree ’bout twenty years ago.
