First off, how come there is no Sporting catagory?

Anyway, being an American, from Sioux Center, it may seem like a silly question, but does anyone miss hockey? The lockout is killing me.

I yearn for Gretzky, Stevens, Brodeur and Bertuzzi.

Shazaam.

wayne gretzky is retired, and i don’t think a resolution of the lock-out is going to change that!

i really miss hockey as well, but i have reservations about the NHLPA. hockey has been an ugly business for a very long time now. for the longest time, i forced myself to “believe” in the surfacey sheen of “guts and glory/it’s all about the game”. i can’t do it any longer. money and greed have ruined the game.

a part of me wants this lockout to utter destroy the NHL, so that something better and truer to the sport can emerge from the ashes.

I’m thinking: a CHL, a six team league made up entirely of Canadian cities, and an AHL, six teams made up entirely of American cities. A 12 team league packed with talent, and affordable to boot. (maybe even a european league, who knows?) it should only be a game for those geographical regions that care about hockey or, at the very least, can sustain ice-creating temperatures!!

Looks like its done.

Done for the year.

Overpaid players meet over indulgant owners.

They deserve each other.

They make in 4 minutes what i make per year.

they should be ashamed of themselves.

BUt i do miss hockey. Evem thoough I am in Sioux Center. Which is not exactly a hockey mecca. Maybe thats why i miss it.

I am gone out now — in search of kitsch.
