While we cannot be certain of Paul’s experiences in jail, we can be sure that he included homosexuals in the list (along with the covetous, boastful, gossipping, and undiscerning, not to mention those who disobey their parents, remember — is anyone still exempt out there?) because his Christianity forbade homosexual relationships, putting them side by side with all other sins. Grammatically, there is no link to be presumed between the sins on this list that would put all attributes on one type of person. They are all attributes of mankind’s diverse sins.
