Jesus may say nothing about homosexuality, but the New Testament says plenty – much more than the Old, in fact. Scripture makes it clear that this is one part of the OT holiness code that we are to retain. You may notice that passages about, say, women in the church found in Paul are phrased is a very different way than those about homosexuality. Paul situates his arguments about women (as those he makes about marriage) within the context of his own views. Most importantly, these passages do not ever say such a thing as ‘a woman who teaches a man shall not enter the Kingdom of God’ while it does tell us that quite clearly in regards to homosexuality AND many other sins that are overlooked in the church today. Oh, if we could see the church truly embrace its identity as wounded sinners! If we would all proclaim our own sinfulness and admit that none of us are any More sinful than the rest.

As far as sin, gays, and unfound change, there is much to be said here, the breif summary of which can be found on my blog in my post on The Nature of Sin.

I am aware, however, that this thread is about ‘gay rights’, and this may be relevant or not. But here’s to discussion!
