I’ve often wondered the same thing when thinking about dating someone who has had a serious relationship before. Because I’ve never dated seriously, all the “firsts” I have when it comes to love would be with this person. In some ways it makes me feel cheated and insecure because all his “firsts” would have been with someone else. But then it occured to me that maybe it was part of God’s preparation for us. Maybe he dated this person to learn things that will benefit our relationship. It could make a relationship stronger, but it could bring issues and baggage to a new relationship that are hurtful and destructive.
