I was largely disappointed with Motorcycle Diaries. It was a really neat story, with some great scenery and cinematography, but it lacked something. That something, I realized, was the Gospel. Having pity on people is a great thing…but Che offered nothing that could really deal with any of the problems he encountered. So he swam across the river to be with the leper’s. He left the next day, never to see them again. Only the Gospel offers a radical redemption of all of creation…the Gospel is the only cure for this broken world desperately seeking Shalom.
