Oh man,

I am an old man, not that up on cool bands any more (though i like celtic stuff — anybody out there like the Pogues? Capercallie?) and when I read the title of this thread, I thought i was going to get to read about how Norbert was driving home from work and he hadn’t had any lunch and he was trying to yank open this string cheese and thenthis amazing music came on the radio and got him so excited that he yanked really hard on the cheese, just as the music reached a crecendo, and in that moment, he accidentally cut across five lanes of traffic and rear ended a police officer to whom he then had to explain the string cheese thing to.

What’s Austin city limits? I don’t have a tv.

good grief bbc. I remember you mention no tv before and then and now I’m thinking both “very impressive” and “how incredibly unfortunate”. Austin City Limits is a really old program on PBS (Public Broadcasting System)…=)…that showcases musicians. They’ve had big and small names, but most of them are very interesting.
Though I do live a short 5 minute drive from the best string cheese this side of everywhere, I have not lost my focus as of yet. If anybody is ever in the area (Cedar Grove WI) and feels like stopping by, I’ll prove our cheese supremacy with a free sampling of curds or whatever else you like.
Has anybody else seen string cheese incident? Live or otherwise?

hey norb.

i have had the pleasure of personally witnessing 3 seperate string cheese incidents.

there shows are always great. a whole lot of improvisational explorations. i love their keyboard player. he’s on fire.

the one downside of the band is there lack of a strong lead vocalist and i do believe that their songwriting has a bit to be desired which seems to be the case with many of these, so-called, jam bands. s.c.i, moe, ekoostik hookah, all great live shows, but in the studio? not so much.

for a great live show check out garaj mahal and robert randolph and his family band. whoa daddy!
