just curious as to everyone’s opinion of this pioneering band.

They’re wonderful. Mark Kozelek’s newest band, Sun Kil Moon, is great as well.

I like about 90% of the songs he’s written, but my only gripe is the 10% I don’t like are all songs that drone on forever and ever.

Definitely a cool band and I think I am with Jason that Sun Kil Moon may even be more cool. Good coffee in the morning or beer in the late evening music.

RHP is absolutely essential, in my opinion. Songs For a Blue Guitar is one of my Top 5 albums of all-time. Sun Kil Moon is nice, but I prefer the old RHP, the crisp percussion, the fuzzy guitars, the vocals. It’s hard to go wrong with Kozelek’s voice—just give his two solo albums—mostly AC/DC covers, a listen.
