Just wanted to say thank you to the CINO folks for the interview and article with David B from Pedro the Lion. Few albums have been as meaningful to me as Pedro’s latest Control. It is simply hard to find Christian artists who are willing to explore and participate in the kind of topics that David has throughout his work.

Has anyone else discovered Control? Any feelings or thoughts?

trust me, mike, it was our pleasure.

i’ve only had the opportunity to hear ‘control’ a couple of times. i’ve spent a lot of time listening to ‘the only reason i feel secure’ since the conference, though (thanks, grant), and i can’t wait to explore more.

You know I’ve heard “Control” and was deeply affected by it. I listen to and appreciate all kinds of music, but this one really resonated with me. It tells the kind of story I like to be told, as a Christian believer. It’s a rare thing to hear a voice out of Christianity with as much artistic authority. And he’s such a great guy, very generous with his time and person. I would also like to push David Eugene Edwards. I bought one of his solo cd’s and liked it very much.

Yes yes…I have always liked Sixteen Horsepower a ton. Another band or artist (David Eugene) who really pursue a higher road in their work.

Pedro is really awesome. I’ve seen him play here in minneapolis about 3 times and I can’t rave enough about him. He’s an unlikely looking rocker but his music kicks so much ass. Try his earlier albums, Winners Never Quit, and It’s Hard to Find a Friend. I wish there were more artists like him.

ive seen pedro the lion three or four times now. i have most of their albums, and love the lyrics. his words just really strike me as something honest and true. its like he says exactly what i’m feeling. sadly, i think this is becoming an obsession. anyway, i always love to hear from fellow Pedro fans.

by the way… in the questions after the workshop… David wasn’t talking about the Holy P, it’s the Whole EP

well, i guess that just shows our pedro ignorance. thanks for the correction!

i actually became a pedro fan before even hearing the music because i liked what he had to say so much.
