Ten things I love about winter (to get me through)
by
Michelle Julianne Gallagher
Watching my downstairs window well fill up with snow.
Being stuck inside with other people and their books, artwork and writing.
Adapting outdoor activities to the indoors, i.e. picnics, camping, rock climbing, etc.
Seeing how much my cousins have grown up since the last family Christmas party.
Tea.
Shuffling through the deep quiet of a snow-covered landscape.
Breath that can be seen.
Wool and things made from it.
The shocking taste of cold air in the back of my mouth.
Going back inside.
