Vol 8, Num 16 :: 2009.07.31 — 2009.09.03
Maybe I don’t want to:
‘Make my own luck’
(fickle wench can’t be trusted anyway)
‘Find my own happiness’
(flittering short-lived butterfly)
‘Make my own way’
(all my work = one big mess)
‘Author my own success’
(standards changing every day)
Maybe
I don’t wish all that,
perhaps
true joy is finally
believing that
all that pressure
need not be
‘Mine and mine alone’.
I can choose the joy
of not doing
this by myself,
choose and never
be alone.
Find the joy of just letting go
of the ‘have to(s)’,
of the ‘should have(s)’
and the ‘someday gonna(s)’
and just resting…..
whether at the darkest precipice
or in the midst of another
mundane Monday.
