What a fantastic story, and what a couple of fantastic ladies you both are. I too dream of being as content with my life as my hardworking foremothers.

I remember having “sightings” of my dad as I’d drive through our little town. Whenever I’d see an older man of medium build, gray hair, thin on top, crossing the street from the post office to the grocery store — especially from a distance or from behind — if I looked quickly, I would think “Dad!” Sometimes I’d squint my eyes just slightly to increase the effect. Can’t quite replace the real thing, though. :}
