Camping anyone? Who's interested?

I need to know who is interested, where they’re likely to want to go (possible locations, camping sites they’d recommend etc.) and what weekend dates work for them. And any questions related to this phase are welcome.

Yes, I’ve been working on this. Since we have two camping events occuring this year, I thought one way to do it would be to make one of the events more backwoodsy and the other with more amenities. But I realize some people who want the amenities might then be restricted to choosing only one of the sites based on this. Just to get your feedback, I was thinking that the East Coast event might be more “primitive” and the West Coast one would be less so. Would any of you amenities-minded folk be limited to either East or West?

ps. this might not even be relevant, because although I have been looking at more primitive sights in North Carolina, it looks like further north, like West Virginia, might accomodate more people in terms of location (New Yorkers, Pennsylvanians, Montrealeans etc.)

That question actually isn’t easily answered. It would depend on which is closer to Chicago (for me), how long the trip ended up being, when the event is, who do I want to see more…the east or west coasters…

Uh, that doesn’t help you, does it. Let me put it this way…you do whatever you see fit, and then I’ll let you know if I can make it happen or not for me.

Will there be need to RSVP, and if so, by a certain time?

yes. the camping site (launching tomorrow) will have an online registration feature which will allow you to register for either trip until the friday before each weekend. we only have limited availability for each trip, so whoever signs up first gets to go.

this year, in an attempt to keep costs down for everyone, we’re charging a flat fee of $25.00 per person. the $25.00 covers both nights and includes meals (not snacks, though). you’ll have to pay via credit card when you register (of course, there’s always a work-around if that doesn’t work for you). we’ll be announcing what meals we’ll be eating at a later date.
