OK. So Matrix Reloaded comes out in a few weeks and Matrix Revolutions is reportedly coming in November (if the studio has it’s way). Wondering how many folk are eager to catch this. Is anyone as stoked as I am?

Can’t wait…although we have to drive to New York to find a babysitter, so that will take a while…we won’t get to see it right away-SO DONT RUIN IT FOR US, okay?
thanks…

Most defiantly.

My friends and I already have tickets for the 14th at 10:00 PM.
We have also watched all of the “animatrix” short films and are very interested in how the video game “enter the matrix” will be parallel to the story lines of reloaded and revolutions. The game actually includes 1 hour of footage shot by the Brothers and using the actors and characters from the movie.

Rumor has it that the DVD of the Animatrix will be released soon. There are a few theaters in Hollywood that are playing them now. Over at Warner Bros. they are working on the surround sound formats of the shorts still, so I am unclear as to whether the shorts are playing in SR (stereo) or if there is some sort of expanded stereo surround format that is on the prints. SamIam, what did you notice?

I won’t ruin the film for you, but I will tell you that Reloaded is about 10X better then the first one, and that is saying something since I loved the first one!

Yeah. The Animatrix DVD will be released on June 3rd.

About the surround sound. Like you said, on the DVD there will be Dolby Digital 5.1 but right now I think it’s sort of a mixed bag.

I know for a fact that when “Final Flight of The Osiris” played in theatre’s before Dreamcatcher it was in full theatre surround. At least it sounded that way to me. But the online downloads of “The Second Renaissance Part 1,” " Program," and “Detective Story” all were only in stereo. Or at least the surround was not taken advantage of.

If you have a fast connection I recommend downloading and watching the 4 Animatrix shorts before you see the movie. They are at http://www.intothematrix.com/ and can be downloaded. The final one “The Second Renaissance Part 2” should be posted online on May 4.

Well too late for watching them before seeing the movie…I saw it last week about 5 times. I also did the DTS for Final Flight…so that one I saw. I’ll head over to the site and download the others. Thanks for the info!

I can’t wait to see the next Matrix! Some of the visuals in the previews are amazing.

The spiritual element of the first Matrix bothers me though. It seems to be an odd combination of oriental religion and existential expressionism. A world where you can only find the meaning in yourself.

Well I saw it last night at the “sneak peak” 10pm show… Yeah it rocked. Better than the first one? Well lets just say that it overwhelmed me with pleasure at nearly every turn and twist. There were HUGE expectatoins for this film and I can safely say it did a good job of surpassing them. Hmmm… I think I’ll go again tomorrow night. Well we’ll talk details later after more people have seen it. SO GO!

Oh and yeah, try to see the Animatrix shorts first if you can and Flight of the Osirus if you can find it. And do stick around for the teaser after the credits.

Uhh, yeah, so my ISP sucks, and somehow I ended up posting that thing twice. Sorry about that. Rob, could you maybe get rid of the second one? And while you’re at it, maybe you could delete this post as well . . .

While looking for box office figures over the weekend I stumbled accross this article. Might be of interest to some of you…

i found the orgy/rave to be about 1/2 hour too long. i do believe the scene was used to fulfill the obligation that most modern filmmakers seem to have to make their films “sexy” and that the wothwhile impact of the sequence could have been captured in a 2-minute clip rather than a 15-minute montage.

i suppose it was a more interesting attempt at this than some films, but boobies is boobies and the only thing “typical action movie fan” likes more than guns is boobies. i’m sure the wachowski bros. are aware of this.
